Governance & Risk Assessment

Internal audit function plays an important role in supporting sound University of Malaya (UM) governance. The Board of Directors (BOD) is the main body that responsible for decision making as well as endorsing and approving policies, procedures, and practices.

Thus, Internal Audit Section (SKAD) UM will assist the BOD of UM with independent reviews and provides assurance and fair opinions regarding the governance processes, risk assessment and internal control as well as holistic view of UM governance structure.

SKAD is perceptive to changes, improvements, and innovation. SKAD is concern over key areas of weakness and emerging risks. As a result, SKAD will be able to generate audit efforts in-line with UM needs and emerging issues be it internally or externally.

SKAD’s qualified and experience auditors are responsible for reviewing and auditing governance structure of UM and conducting risk assessment. Risk based is SKAD main methodology used in performing audit assignment.

Well planned audit schedule and approaches are designed and evaluated periodically. This approach will ensure SKAD would be able to provide agility in performing audit assignments through-out the year. 

Puan Hajah Siti Aisyah Binti Yusoff Aisyah joined Internal Audit Section on 2 nd July 2007. Upon joining Internal Audit Section, she has 7 years experience in finance and accounting management as well as financial auditing and advisory services. Aisyah completed her Bachelor of Accountancy from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2000. She also holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) with concentration in Internal Auditing from University of Malaya. Within 15 years of services, Aisyah has involved in various audit functions including risk and governance review, operational audit, compliance audit, building and space audit, as well as investigation and special review.
